The town is located 25 km west of Warialda on the Gwydir Highway near the Gwydir River and in the Gwydir Shire local government area, 615 kilometres north of the state capital, Sydney. Horton River (Australia)

Horton River, a perennial stream of the Barwon catchment within the Murray-Darling basin, is located in the Northern Tablelands and North West Slopes districts of New South Wales, Australia. The river rises on the northern slopes of the Nandewar Range, below Mount Kaputar, and flows generally southeast and north, joined by six tributaries before reaching its confluence with the Gwydir River, north west of Bingara; descending 1,060 metres over its 134 kilometres course.

Bukkulla, New South Wales

Bukkulla is a hamlet about 30 kilometres north of Inverell and north-east of Bannockburn on the Ashford Road. This hamlet is within the boundaries of Arrawatta County and Inverell Shire, New South Wales, Australia. The village is at elevation of about 580 metres.
