Australian Alps Walking Track
The Australian Alps Walking Track is a long distance walking trail through the alpine areas of Victoria, New South Wales and ACT. It is 655km long, starting at Walhalla, Victoria and running through to Tharwa, ACT near Canberra. The track weaves mainly though Australian national parks, such as Alpine National Park and Kosciuszko National Park, though it is not exclusively restricted to national parks.

Thredbo, New South Wales
Thredbo Village and ski resort is in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, Australia, and a part of the Snowy River Shire. Thredbo is about 500 kilometres south of Sydney, accessible by the Alpine Way via Cooma, Berridale and Jindabyne. The village is built in the valley of the Thredbo River, formerly known as the Crackenback River, at the foot of the Ramshead Range. The town has around 4150 beds but a permanent population of only about 477 people.

The Snowy Mountains, known informally as "The Snowies", an IBRA subregion, are the highest Australian mountain range and contain the Australian mainland's highest mountain, Mount Kosciuszko, which reaches 2,228 metres AHD, approximately 7310 feet. The range contains the five highest peaks on the Australian mainland, all above 2,100 metres . They are located in southern New South Wales and are part of the larger Australian Alps and the Great Dividing Range.

Rams Head
Rams Head is a mountain in the Kosciuszko National Park in New South Wales, Australia. Its summit rises to an altitude of 2190 metres above sea level and is the fourth highest mountain in New South Wales and the fourth highest mountain in the country. Located south of Mount Kosciuszko, it is a magnet for hikers in the summer, and during the winter months is a magnet for back country skiers and alpine touring. The summit of the mountain offers views of the main range.
