Urana is a small town in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia. Urana is located between Lockhart and Jerilderie, about 561 kilometres southwest of the state capital, Sydney. To the west lies Lake Urana and the Lake Urana Nature Reserve. To the east lies a smaller lake, Lake Uranagang. Urana in the major town and headquarters of Urana Shire. Lake Urana Nature Reserve

Lake Urana Nature Reserve is a nature reserve in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia. The reserve was created in 1996 and contains 303 hectares. It is on the western shore of Lake Urana, a shallow intermittent lake in a depression. It fills every 10 to 20 years and retains water for several. Both the lake and reserve lie west of the town of Urana. The woodland in the reserve includes Yellow Box and White Cyprus Pine.
