Lochinvar is a small town in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, Australia in Maitland City Council. It is named after Lochinvar, a loch in southern Scotland. The town is mostly built up along the busy New England Highway between the major centres of Maitland and Singleton and is 165 kilometres north of Sydney. Lochinvar is a railway station on the Main North Line of the Australian state of New South Wales. Farley railway station
Farley was a closed station on the Main North railway line in New South Wales. It opened in 1860 initially as Wollombi Road, and closed to passenger services in 1975. It was a side platform with a substantial station building which lay disused until eventual demolition. Only the platform face remains. Save our Rails, a Newcastle rail lobby group, has suggested opening a new railway station in the Farley area to improve rail access to Newcastle.

Rutherford Technology High School
Rutherford Technology High School is a secondary school located in Rutherford, a suburb of the city of Maitland, New South Wales in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. The current principal is Mr Michael Whiting (replaced Mr Paul Tracey Term 3 2009), and the deputy principals are Simone Hughes and Greg Archbald. The school opened in 1985. The school has a Student Representative Council containing 24 members, with over 1200 students enrolled in 2012.
