Wuruma Dam

Wuruma Dam was constructed across the Nogo River in the upper Burnett River Catchment for irrigation & town water supply for Eidsvold, Mundubbera and Gayndah. SunWater is undertaking a dam spillway capacity upgrade program to ensure the highest level of safety for our dams is maintained. The spillway will be upgraded in the longer term.

Eidsvold, Queensland

Eidsvold is a small town in the North Burnett region of Queensland, Australia. It is situated on the Burnett Highway approximately 430 kilometres north of the state capital, Brisbane. The town is the self-proclaimed Beef Capital of the Burnett and is a hub for the regional cattle industry. At the 2006 census, Eidsvold had a population of 459. The town is named for Eidsvold station, a nearby property. That in turn is named for Eidsvoll, Norway.

Shire of Eidsvold

The Shire of Eidsvold was a local government area in the northern catchment of the Burnett River, Queensland, Australia. The shire covered an area of 4,809.4 square kilometres, and existed as a local government area from 1890 until 2008, when it amalgamated with several other shires to form the North Burnett Region. The major activities in the shire were beef cattle raising and forestry, and some irrigated properties existed along the Burnett and Nogo Rivers.
