Return Creek Dam

Return Creek Dam (Eastine Creek Dam) is located about 9 km North East of Mount Garnet, Queensland and about 36 km West of Ravenshoe, Queensland. It was constructed for mining purposes within the Return (Nanyeta) Creek. The Return Creek dam (not to be confused with Eastine Creek dam) was built in the early 1900s on the Return Creek, to supply the township of Mount Garnet and the copper and silver mine of a water supply.

Mbabaram language

Mbabaram (Barbaram) is an extinct Australian Aboriginal language of north Queensland. It was the traditional language of the Mbabaram tribe. Known speakers were Albert Bennett, Alick Chalk, Jimmy Taylor and Mick Burns. Recordings of Bennett and Chalk are held in the Audiovisual Archive of the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies. R. M. W.

Mount Garnet, Queensland

Mount Garnet is a small town in north-eastern Queensland, Australia at the south-western edge of the Atherton Tableland and on the Kennedy Highway. Mount Garnet is about a three-hour drive from Cairns. At the 2006 census, Mount Garnet had a population of 458.
