Cardross Lakes

The Cardross Lakes are an irrigation drainage basin system located approximately 15 km south-west of Mildura, Victoria, Australia. The lakes are notable for being the only known occurrence within Victoria of the Southern Purple Spotted Gudgeon, discovered in 1995, believed to be extinct in Victoria since the 1930s.

Shire of Mildura

The Shire of Mildura was a local government area at the northwestern corner of Victoria, Australia, on the Murray River and the South Australian border. The shire covered an area of 10,145 square kilometres, and existed from 1890 until 1995. From 1920 onwards, Mildura itself was managed by a separate entity, ultimately known as the City of Mildura. After a large-scale statewide amalgamation program by the Victorian Government in 1994–1995, they were reunited under the Rural City of Mildura.

PTV (TV station)

PTV is an Australian television station licensed to, and serving the regions surrounding Mildura in Australia. The station commenced transmissions in 1997, when Prime Television won the second television license for Mildura, a non-aggregated market, in competition with WIN Television. Analogue transmission ceased on 30 June 2010 as part of the national conversion to digital television.
