Hope Island, Queensland

Hope Island is a suburb on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. At the 2006 Census, Hope Island had a population of 5,396. Hope Island is popular due to its close proximity to both the Gold Coast beaches and Brisbane city. The area was named after colonial aristocrat Captain Louis Hope, who was granted approximately 1,800 acres of land at the mouth of the Coomera River in recognition of his contribution in developing the sugar industry in Queensland.

Sanctuary Cove, Queensland

Sanctuary Cove is a gated community, in the suburb of Hope Island in the Gold Coast area of Queensland, Australia. It was the first of such developments in Australia and is notable for its impact in planning legislation in Queensland which had to be altered to allow it to proceed, due to the privatisation of such large areas of urban land. It covers an area of 474 hectares.

Thunderbolt (Dreamworld)

The Thunderbolt was a steel roller coaster at the Dreamworld theme park on the Gold Coast, Australia. It was the park's original roller coaster opening in April 1982 before being closed on 8 August 2003. It was demolished the following year.

AVPX (short for Alien vs. Predator vs. You) was a themed indoor laser skirmish attraction at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The attraction was based on the Alien vs. Predator films. It was the biggest indoor laser skirmish attraction in Australia and was included in Dreamworld's admission price.

Tower of Terror II

The Tower of Terror II is a steel shuttle roller coaster located at the Dreamworld amusement park on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. When the Tower of Terror opened on 23 January 1997, it was the first roller coaster in the world to reach 160.9 kilometres per hour speeds making it the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world of its time. The ride is situated on the Dreamworld Tower which also houses the Giant Drop free fall ride.
