Kandanga is a town in south east Queensland, Australia. The town is located on the Mary Valley Highway, 160 kilometres north of the state capital, Brisbane and 28 kilometres south west of Gympie, on the banks of Kandanga Creek. Part of the Gympie Region local government area, Kandanga at the 2006 census had a population of 596. . The name "Kandanga" is derived from the local Kabi Aboriginal language, meaning a fork or sharp bend of the creek.

Traveston Crossing Dam was a proposed water project that was initiated by the state government of Queensland, Australia, in 2006 as a result of a prolonged drought which saw South-East Queensland's dam catchment area receive record-low rain. The project was cancelled in November 2009, after being refused approval by federal Environment Minister Peter Garrett.

Imbil, Queensland
Imbil is a town in the Wide Bay-Burnett region of Queensland, Australia. The town is located in the Gympie Region local government area and in the Mary River valley, 160 kilometres north of the state capital, Brisbane. At the 2006 census, Imbil had a population of 469. The town was established in 1868 at the start of the gold rush in the area. The opening of the Mary Valley Heritage Railway in 1914 brought a second surge of development to the town.
