Wangary, South Australia

Wangary is a town on the Eyre Peninsula in the Australian state of South Australia, located 45 kilometres west of Port Lincoln on the Flinders Highway near Coffin Bay. At the 2006 census, Wangary had a population of 289. Its correct name is Lake Wangary owing to a large lake in the area that was once fresh water but has since been degraded to a salt lake. There are many spellings of Wangary e.g. 'Wangauri' and 'wangeery' meaning "place of many ceremonies" in the local Indigenous dialect.

Coffin Bay National Park

Coffin Bay is a national park in on the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia, 301 km west of Adelaide, and 46 km west of Port Lincoln. The township of Coffin Bay is near the entrance to the National Park. The National Park features a long peninsula with a sheltered bay, coastal dunes, swamps and a spectacular coastline of islands, reefs, limestone cliffs and white surf beaches. To the east of Point Avoid are Almonta and Gunyah Beaches, used for surfing.
