The Lobethal Bierhaus opened for business on 26 May 2007. The operation includes a small all-grain micro brewery (12 Hecto-Litre Brew Length) with accompanying cellar door tasting facilities, off-license bottle sales and a restaurant with matching beer themed foods built around local produce.

Charleston, South Australia

Charleston is a small town in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia. It is situated on the Onkaparinga Valley Road between Woodside and Mount Torrens, on the main route from the Adelaide Hills to the Barossa Valley. Most of the local businesses are on the Onkaparinga Valley Road, while the largest number of houses are on Newman Road. Charleston is served by a community postal agency called the Bookpost which is also a bookshop, internet cafe and General Store.

Adelaide Hills Council

Adelaide Hills Council was established in 1997 by the amalgamation of four smaller district councils (East Torrens, Gumeracha, Onkaparinga and Stirling). It is in the hills east of Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, and extends from the South Para Reservoir in the north to the Mount Bold Reservoir in the south. Towns east of Stirling and Bridgewater, including Hahndorf, are located in the Mount Barker DC. The Adelaide Hills Council contains a total of 57 townships:

Woodside, South Australia

Woodside is a town in the Adelaide Hills region of South Australia. The town is between Balhannah and Lobethal, 37 kilometres from the state capital, Adelaide. Amenities include a swimming pool, library, second hand store, grocery store, tennis club, bowls club and playing fields. The Johnston family of Oakbank founded Woodside in the 1850s, primarily to improve their brewery business. The town was a useful traffic hub linking Oakbank, Lobethal and Charleston.
