Monash, South Australia

Monash is a town in the Riverland area of South Australia. It is on the Sturt Highway between Barmera and Renmark. At the 2006 census, Monash had a population of 1,115. Monash was proclaimed in 1921 and is named after General Sir John Monash, a World War I army commander. The primary industry is irrigated horticulture and viticulture. Monash is in the Berri Barmera Council, state electoral district of Chaffey, and federal Division of Barker. Its postcode is 5342.

Glossop High School

Glossop High School is a public high school in the Riverland of South Australia. The school was formed in 1941. There are two campuses one in Berri and one in Glossop. There are 210 students at the senior campus and 462 at the middle campus. The school was redeveloped in 1974. A new campus of the school was completed in 2008.

Big Orange (South Australia)

The Big Orange is one of a number of Big Things to be found in Australia, and is located near the Riverland town of Berri in South Australia. Standing at 15 metres in height, with a diameter of 12 metres, it is the biggest of the "big fruit" in Australia, and incorporates a cafe, souvenir shop, function room, lookout and a 360 degree mural within the structure. Opened in 1980, the landmark has at times struggled to find commercial success, changing hands in 2000, 2006 and again in 2008.

Glossop, South Australia

Glossop is a small town in the Riverland region of South Australia. It was gazetted in 1921 as the town in a soldier settlement area after World War I and was named after Admiral Glossop, who had been in charge of HMAS Sydney when it sank SMS Emden in 1914. At the 2006 census, Glossop had a population of 652.
