Meningie, South Australia
Meningie is a town on the south-east side of Lake Albert in South Australia. It is on the Princes Highway near The Coorong and was surveyed in 1866. At the 2006 census, Meningie had a population of 940. Meningie was the first town in Australia to have ADSL broadband installed without using a Telstra DSLAM. Agile Communications installed their own DSLAM in Meningie in October 2003, following on from having established a microwave network connecting to Adelaide in May 2001.

The Coorong District Council
The Coorong District Council is a local government area located between the River Murray and the western Limestone Coast in South Australia. The district cover mostly rural areas with small townships, as well as the Coorong National Park. The council was formed in 1995, when the District Council of Coonalpyn Downs amalgamated with the Peake District Council and Meningie District Council to form the Coorong District Council. It is geographically the largest council area in South Australia.

Lake Albert (South Australia)
Lake Albert is a notionally fresh water lake near the mouth of the Murray River. It is filled by water flowing in from Lake Alexandrina at its mouth near Narrung. It is separated on the south by the Narrung Peninsula from the salt-water Coorong. The only major town on the lake is Meningie. The lake was named after Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, the Consort of Queen Victoria.

Narrung is a settlement in South Australia. It is situated at the northern extent of the Narrung Peninsula, which separates The Coorong from Lake Albert adjacent to The Narrows which separates Lake Albert from the larger Lake Alexandrina. At the 2006 census, Narrung and the surrounding area had a population of 276.
