Eyre Peninsula
Eyre Peninsula is a triangular peninsula in South Australia. It is bounded on the east by Spencer Gulf, the west by the Great Australian Bight, and the north by the Gawler Ranges. It is named after explorer Edward John Eyre who explored some of it in 1839-1841. The coastline was first explored by Matthew Flinders in 1801-1802. The west coast was also visited by Nicolas Baudin at around the same time.

Wangary is a town on the Eyre Peninsula in the Australian state of South Australia, located 45 kilometres west of Port Lincoln on the Flinders Highway near Coffin Bay. At the 2006 census, Wangary had a population of 289. Its correct name is Lake Wangary owing to a large lake in the area that was once fresh water but has since been degraded to a salt lake. There are many spellings of Wangary e.g. 'Wangauri' and 'wangeery' meaning "place of many ceremonies" in the local Indigenous dialect.

Yallunda Flat, South Australia
Yallunda Flat is a small rural centre located approximately 21 km west of Tumby Bay on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula. The local sports ground is host to an annual country show, and was used as a set in the 1981 movie Gallipoli, probably because it is largely unchanged from a bygone era. A history of Yallunda Flat was published in the 1980s, entitled "Gum Trees and Gullies" reflecting on the picturesque nature of the area.
