Bishopsbourne, Tasmania

Bishopsbourne is a farming community in northern Tasmania, Australia. It has a population of fewer than 200. It has a church, graveyard and recreation ground. Nearby towns include Carrick, Bracknell and Longford. Almost all the houses and farms are located on Bishopsbourne Road and there are a few back roads. Bishopsbourne Post Office opened on 31 December 1846 and closed in 1976. There has been increased activity of development in recent years, though none of it has been commercial.

Carrick, Tasmania

Liffey River (Tasmania)

The Liffey River is a river in Northern Tasmania, Australia that flows from the Great Western Tiers to the Meander River near Carrick, and is one of its main tributaries. The Liffey has a modern catchment area of 224 square kilometres which has been modified by human activity, specifically diversion for irrigation. Flow is highly seasonal with the largest average monthly flows from July to September. The flow, and effective catchment area, are affected by irrigation diversion.

Entally House

Entally House was the family home of Thomas Reibey who was the Premier of Tasmania from 1876 to 1877. The Entally Estate was established in 1819 by Thomas Haydock Reibey (senior) in Hadspen, Tasmania. Reiby worked in the East India company, and named the house after the suburb of Entally in Calcutta, India.
