Rhyndaston Tunnel

The Rhyndaston Tunnel is a 955 m long 1 in 40 (2.5%) grade railway tunnel in southern Tasmania. The northern end of the tunnel is 72.5 km from the Hobart railway yards. It was built as part of the Tasmanian Main Line Company's track from Hobart to Western Junction which was completed in 1876.

Southern Midlands Council

Parattah, Tasmania

Parattah is a small township in Tasmania, located about 6 kilometres (4 mi) southeast of the town of Oatlands. At the 2006 census, Parattah had a population of 105. While not populated as such, the area is home to about 30 families, and contains a farmhouse which was once home to Hudson Fysh, one of the founders of Qantas, and a historic railway station. Parattah was once known as Parattah Junction due to the former Oatlands Railway which branched off towards Oatlands from this area.

Kempton, Tasmania

Kempton is a township on the Midland Highway north of Hobart, Tasmania. At the 2006 census, the town had a population of 358. A low rainfall region of plains and low hills, it is mostly used for grazing sheep.
