Sheffield, Tasmania

Sheffield is a town 23 km inland from Devonport on the north-west coast of Tasmania, Australia's island state. Sheffield has long been the rural hub for the Mount Roland area. The Sheffield area is well known for its high quality butterfat production via dairy farming. The area is suitable for lamb and beef production. The town of Railton is nearby. At the 2006 census, Sheffield had a population of 1,397.

Beulah, Tasmania

Beulah (Australian postcode 7306) is a small township on the north-west coast of Tasmania south of Devonport, Tasmania, under the foothills of Mount Roland, Tasmania. The closest town of consequence is Sheffield, Tasmania. The hamlet of Lower Beulah lies, perversely, higher up the foothills of Mount Roland, to the south of the main township. Beulah has one of the oldest cricket clubs in Tasmania.

Kentish Council

The Kentish Council is a local government area of Tasmania. It is located in the north-west of the state, slightly inland from the coast. The area was explored by the surveyor Nathaniel Kentish in 1842 who was given the task of finding a route from Deloraine through to Tasmania's north west coast. Kentish's last name has remained as the name of the area. The major towns of the municipality are Sheffield, Railton and Wilmot.

Elizabeth Town, Tasmania

Elizabeth Town is a town in Meander Valley, Tasmania. At the 2006 census, Elizabeth Town and the surrounding area had a population of 502. Elizabeth Town Post Office opened on 1 September 1860 and closed in 1969.

Mount Roland Conservation Area

Mount Roland is a Conservation area in the north west coast region of Tasmania. It is near the town of Sheffield. It rises to 1234 metres and there are a number of well-marked bushwalks suitable for a day of pleasant exercise. There are long established walking tracks from both Claude Road and Gowrie Park to the summit.
