At the 2006 census, Hoddles Creek had a population of 1,061. It is situated on the banks of Hoddle's Creek, which is, in turn, named after Robert Hoddle. It has a school, Hoddles Creek Primary School. The Post Office opened as Hoddle's Creek (sic) on 24 May 1862 and closed 1865.
