Dunolly railway station

Dunolly is a closed railway station on the Mildura line in the town of Dunolly, Victoria, Australia. The station was one of 35 closed to passenger traffic on 4 October 1981 as part of the New Deal timetable for country passengers. Today it is the junction for the lines towards Inglewood, Kulwin, and Robinvale. It also contains grain silos. The railway from Castlemaine, via Maryborough, reached Dunolly on 6 October 1874. A connection between Maryborough and Ballarat was made on 2 February 1875.

The Shire of Bet Bet was a local government area located about 180 kilometres northwest of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The shire covered an area of 928.2 square kilometres, and existed from 1861 until 1995.

Dunolly, Victoria

Dunolly is a town in Victoria, Australia, located on the Dunolly - Maryborough Road, in the Shire of Central Goldfields. At the 2006 census, Dunolly had a population of 969. The town began during the Victorian Gold Rush, and has produced more nuggets than any other goldfield in Australia. The town was first known as Goldborough and the Post Office opened under that name on 1 March 1856 and was renamed Dunolly in 1859.

Eddington, Victoria

Eddington is a small town on the Loddon River in Central Victoria, Australia. It is approximately 20 kilometres north-west of Maldon, 13 kilometres SE of Dunolly, 24 kilometres ENE of Maryborough and 48 kilometres south-west of Bendigo. It is approximately 130 kilometres north-west from Melbourne. There is a bridge over the Loddon at Eddington, built during the 1930s or 1940s to replace a 19th century example that tended to be swept away by seasonal floods.

Maryborough-Dunolly Box-Ironbark Region

The Maryborough-Dunolly Box-Ironbark Region includes all the Box-Ironbark forest and woodland remnants used as winter feeding habitat by Swift Parrots in the Maryborough-Dunolly region of central Victoria, south-eastern Australia. The 900 km region was identified by BirdLife International as an Important Bird Area (IBA) and includes several nature reserves, state parks and state forests, with only a few small blocks of private land.
