Meredith, Victoria
Meredith is a town in Victoria, Australia, located on the Midland Highway between Ballarat and Geelong. Meredith Post Office opened on 1 November 1854 and the railway came to the town with the opening of the Geelong-Ballarat line in 1862, with the local railway station opened soon after. Now only grain and freight trains use the line. At the 2006 census, Meredith had a population of 1,118. Meredith has been host to the Meredith Music Festival since 1991.

The Post Office opened on 1 March 1859 as Mount Doran and was renamed Elaine in 1872.

The County of Grant is one of the 37 counties of Victoria which are part of the cadastral divisions of Australia, used for land titles. It is located to the west of Melbourne, on the west side of Port Phillip and includes Geelong. Ballarat is on its north-western edge. It is bounded in the west by the Yarrowee River, on the north by the Great Dividing Range and on the east by the Werribee River.

Steiglitz, Victoria
Steiglitz is a small town in Victoria, in the Brisbane Ranges. It is located 92 kilometres west of the state capital, Melbourne, Australia. In the early 1850s gold was found near the town, and as a consequence it grew on land belonging to pastoralists from the von Stieglitz family. Following the decline of the Australian gold rushes in the late 1870s the population of the town declined. The last gold mine in the town closed in 1941 and the population as of 2006 is less than 100.
