Purnim, Victoria

Purnim is a township in Victoria, Australia. The town is located 250 kilometres south west of the state capital, Melbourne, on the Hopkins Highway midway between Warrnambool and Mortlake. At the 2006 census, Purnim and the surrounding area had a population of 459. Purnim Post Office opened on 1 November 1868. Buildings of interest are the Purnim Hotel, the abandoned Australian rules football oval, the primary school, and a church. A milk bar was joined to one of the houses until 2003.

Mount Emu Creek is a long but small meandering waterway located in the west of Victoria. The total length of the Mount Emu Creek is over 250 kilometres. The creek forms near Trawalla, and Trawalla Creek flows to Mount Emu Creek, the quantity and quality of water from Trawalla Creek is of great importance to Mount Emu Creek. Trawalla Creek drains the area of highest rainfall within Mount Emu Creek’s catchment.

Wangoom

Wangoom is a town in the Western District of Victoria, 255 kilometres from the state capital, Melbourne and 12 kilometres from the regional centre of Warrnambool. The population at the 2006 census was 378. After European settlement of the area in the 1840s mixed farming was conducted by many landowners and leasees until the introduction of the milking machine followed by a period where most farms derived a large proportion of their income from dairying.

Framlingham, Victoria

Framlingham was an Aboriginal reserve established by the Board for the Protection of Aborigines in Victoria, Australia in 1861. It was located beside the Hopkins River in the territory of the Girai wurrung near the boundary with the Gunditjmara, not to far from Warrnambool on the south-west coast of the state. The reserve operated until it was closed in 1916, with the aboriginal community continuing to the present.

3RPH Warrnambool

3RPH Warrnambool (callsign 3RPH/T) is a radio station based in Warrnambool, Victoria. It is part of the Vision Australia Radio network, a reading and information service for those persons unable to read or easily access information in print. The station is run and operated by volunteers. There is another station in the network with the same 3RPH/T callsign, 3RPH Warragul When not broadcasting local programs, the station is a relay of 3RPH in Melbourne.
