Rutherglen railway station, Victoria

Rutherglen is a closed station located in the town of Rutherglen, on the Wahgunyah railway line in Victoria, Australia. The Wahgunyah railway line was opened as a whole from Springhurst to Wahgunyah in 1879. The passenger service was withdrawn on 13 April 1962, the last branch line mixed train to operate in Victoria. Services were suspended in 1995, with the line practically closed.

Rutherglen, Victoria

Rutherglen  pronunciation is a small town in north-eastern Victoria, Australia, near the Murray River border with New South Wales. The town was named after the Scottish town of Rutherglen which lies just outside Glasgow. At the 2006 census, Rutherglen had a population of 1,990.

Lake Moodemere

Lake Moodemere is a locality in north eastern Victoria near Wahgunyah on theMurray River. The locality is on the Murray Valley Highway, 233 kilometres north of the state capital, Melbourne. Moodemere is believed o be an Aboriginal for ‘water hole that never dries up’. The lake is host to the Lake Moodemere rowing regatta each year in January. It is the oldest continually run regatta in Australia with the first event held in 1863.
