Indigo Valley, Victoria

Indigo Valley is a valley and bounded locality in Victoria, Australia stretching approximately between Yackandandah and the Hume Highway near Barnawartha. The Indigo Creek flows through it. Indigo Valley was formerly part of the Shire of Chiltern but now forms part of the Indigo Shire, to which it lends its name. Indigo Valley has a Country Fire Authority volunteer fire brigade and a state primary school called Middle Indigo Primary School.

Barnawartha railway station

Barnawartha is a closed station located in the town of Barnawartha, on the North East railway in Victoria, Australia. The station building and platform are on the eastern side of the broad gauge line, with a goods shed located opposite. The standard gauge main line runs the platform. The station opened with the line in 1873 with a temporary passenger shelter and a large brick goods shed.

Barnawartha, Victoria

Barnawartha is a small town located on the Hume Highway in regional north-east Victoria, Australia, approximately 299 kilometres from Melbourne on the banks of Indigo Creek which runs into the Murray River to the north. Gustav and William Baumgarten were large land owners in Barnawartha prior to the township being settled. After serving prison time for supplying horses to the infamous Ned Kelly, William developed a large winery called Bogong, on the Murray River.

Chiltern, Victoria

Chiltern is a town in Victoria, Australia, located in the north east of the state between Wangaratta and Wodonga, in the Shire of Indigo. At the 2006 census, Chiltern had a population of 1063. The town is close to the Chiltern-Mount Pilot National Park. Chiltern was once on the main road between Melbourne and Sydney but is now bypassed by the Hume Freeway running one kilometre to the east.
