Northcliffe, Western Australia

Northcliffe is a town located in the lower South West region of Western Australia, about 28 kilometres south of the town of Pemberton. At the 2006 census, Northcliffe had a population of 412. It is largely surrounded by karri, marri and jarrah forest and is close to the Warren, D'Entrecasteaux and Shannon national parks. Primarily a farming area since Group Settlement, both logging and conservation interests are represented in Northcliffe.

Gloucester Tree

The Gloucester Tree is a giant karri tree in the Gloucester National Park of Western Australia. At 72 metres in height, it is the world's second tallest fire-lookout tree (second only to the nearby Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree), and visitors can climb up to a platform in its upper branches for a spectacular view of the surrounding karri forest. It is owned by the Shire of Manjimup.
