Shire of Kondinin

The Shire of Kondinin is a local government area in the Eastern Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, about 300 kilometres east of the state capital, Perth. The Shire's land area of 7,376 square kilometres forms a narrow east-west band, located between the Shire of Narembeen to the north and the Shire of Kulin to the south. Its seat of government is the town of Kondinin.

Kondinin, Western Australia

Kondinin is a town located in the Eastern Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, 279 kilometres east of the state capital, Perth via the Brookton Highway and State Route 40 between Corrigin and Hyden. It is the main town in the Shire of Kondinin. At the 2006 census, Kondinin had a population of 311.

Granite outcrops of Western Australia are inselbergs and monoliths made from granite that are found across much of Western Australia. Rising abruptly from the surrounding landscape they create a variety of microhabitats for plants, and provide seasonal resources and refuge for a range of animals. South Kumminin, Western Australia

South Kumminin in a small town in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia. The name is Indigenous Australian in origin but its meaning is unknown. The town is located along the Kondinin to Merredin railway line. When the railway line opened in 1917 a siding was opened where the townsite is located named Arrowsmith. The name was changed later that year to South Kumminin and lots were surveyed in 1918. The townsite was gazetted in 1921.
