Kepa, Karawanks

Kepa is a peak, 2,145 m high, in the Western Karawanks, on the border between Slovenia and Austria. It is the third highest peak in the Karawanks after Stol and Vrtača. Its steep northern face, resembling a rocky pyramid with a rounded summit is a landmark in Carinthia. It is best accessible from the village of Belca on the Slovene side.

Faaker See

Faaker See or Lake Faak is an alpine lake in the Austrian state of Carinthia. With a surface of approximately 2.2 km² it is the state's fifth largest lake. Faaker See is a popular vacation and bathing destination, known for its clear turquoise water. Fishing, especially for whitefish (Reinanke) is also quite popular. It is located south of Villach and the Drava river at the northern slope of the Karawanken mountain range.

Karawanks Tunnel (motorway)

The Karawanks Tunnel (German: Karawankentunnel, Slovene: Predor Karavanke or Karavanški predor) is a motorway tunnel crossing the Alpine Karawanks mountain range between Austria and Slovenia, with a total length of 7,864 m, 8,019 m enclosure between the portals. Its construction began in 1986 and it opened on June 1, 1991.

Karawanks Tunnel (railway)

The Karawanks Tunnel is the fourth longest railway tunnel in Austria and the longest in Slovenia with a length of 7,976 metres . The railway passes under the Rožca saddle between Rosenbach in southern Austria and Jesenice in northern Slovenia. The tunnel was an important part of the Karawanken Railway, which was - together with the Bohinj Railway - built to connect the port of Trieste with Klagenfurt, the capital of the federal state of Carinthia in Austria.
