Brenner Base Tunnel

The Brenner Base Tunnel (German: Brennerbasistunnel; Italian: Galleria di base del Brennero) is a planned 55-kilometre long railway tunnel through the base of the Brenner massif. It will run from Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof in Austria to Franzensfeste (Fortezza) in Italy, replacing part of the current Brenner railway. The line is part of Line 1, the Berlin to Palermo route, of Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T).

Gschnitzbach

The Gschnitzbach has its source near Brenner. It flows from South to North and merges with the Sill River near Steinach am Brenner. It passes through the villages of Trins and Gschnitz.

Obernberger Seebach

The Obernberger Seebach, formerly called Obernberger Ache, is a river in Austria originating south-west of Brenner and taking a north-east route to the Sill River. In the middle of the valley the brook passes through the village of Obernberg am Brenner. From the spring until to the mouth it overcomes more than 200 height meters in a V-shaped valley. He provides the village with drinking water thanks to its Grade A quality. In the lower course live fishes such as trouts.

Navisbach

The Navisbach is a small river that flows through the Navistal (Navis valley), in Tyrol, Austria. Its route follows western direction until north of Steinach am Brenner where it merges with the Sill river. The brook is one of the cleanest waters in Tyrol and has Grade A- quality. It provides the village of Navis (in the center of the valley) with drinking water. Normally the brook is a rapid-river but the speed of the water is less dangerous and quick compared to others.

Brennersee

The lake Brennersee lies approximately 1.15 km north of the Brenner Pass, 1310 metres above sea level. With an area of approximately 19 ha, it is the biggest lake in the Wipptal. The lake can be explored by motorway A13 or by local train from Innsbruck. Although the lake is always open for bathing, the water barely warms up to 12 °C, even in midsummer. In addition, the basin and motorway often conceal the sun, and the proximate environment is chilly.
