Stubaital

The Stubaital is an alpine valley in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It is the central valley of the Stubai Alps. The Ruetz river flows through the valley. This 40-km long valley runs southwest from Schönberg im Stubaital, near Innsbruck. Below Fulpmes, the towns lie on terraces above the Ruetz on either side of the river. At Fulpmes the terraces merge to form the valley floor. South of Neustift, the main valley continues as the Unterberg and the tributary Oberbergtal branches to the north.

Habicht

Habicht is a mountain in the Stubai Alps of Austria. For a long time, the locals believed it to be the highest mountain in Tyrol, due to its prominence above the surrounding mountains. Despite what they thought, the highest peak in the Stubai Alps is Zuckerhütl which is 230 metres higher than Habicht. The name literally means "hawk" in German.

Axamer Lizum

Axamer Lizum is a village located southwest of Innsbruck, Austria. For the 1964 Winter Olympics, it hosted all of the alpine skiing events except for men's downhill which took place in Patscherkofel located southeast of Innsbruck. Twelve years later, it hosted exactly the same alpine skiing events.

Innsbruck-Land District

The Bezirk Innsbruck Land is an administrative district in Tyrol, Austria. It encloses the Statutarstadt Innsbruck, and borders Bavaria in the north, the district Schwaz in the east, South Tyrol in Italy to the south, and the district of Imst in the west. Area of the district is 1,986.45 km², with a population of 167,339 (January 1, 2012), and population density of 84 persons per km². Administrative center of the district is Innsbruck.
