Gimadanga (গিমাডাঙ্গা) is the largest village of Patgati union at Tungipara Upazilla in Gopalgonj of Bangladesh. It comprises 18 small or big villages. Once Tungipara was included with this village. During 1984 it was separated from Patgati and became Upazilla.

1971 Bangladesh genocide

The 1971 Bangladesh genocide consisted of numerous atrocities and human rights abuses, beginning with Operation Searchlight on 25 March 1971 and continuing during the Bangladesh Liberation War, in East Pakistan Massacres, killings, rape, arson and systematic elimination of Hindus, political dissidents and the members of the liberation forces of Bangladesh were conducted by the Pakistan Army, with support from local political and religious militias.
