Maungdaw

Maungdaw is a town in the Rakhine State of westernmost part of Myanmar. It is the administrative seat of Maungdaw Township and Maungdaw District. Maungdaw is the west most city of Burma and it is a border city too with Bangladesh separated by Naf river. The border is almost 168 miles long. Maungdaw is 16 miles away from Buthidaung. Maundaw and Buthidaung are separated by May Yu Mountains. It has conncted by two tunnels. Tunnel was built in 1918 on Maungdaw Buthidaung motor way.

Naf River

Naf River ( ; is a river marking the border of Bangladesh and Myanmar. The Naf River's average depth is 128 feet and maximum depth is 400 feet . Historically, Shapuree Island located at the mouth of the river, plays an important role and is considered as one of the immediate causes for the first Anglo-Burmese War.

Teknaf Upazila

Teknaf is an Upazila of Cox's Bazar District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh. It forms the southernmost point in mainland Bangladesh (St. Martin's Island is the southernmost point). The name of the region comes from the Naf River which forms the Eastern boundary of the upazila. It shares the border with Burma.

St. Martin's Island

St. Martin's Island is a small island (area only 8 sq. km) in the northeastern part of the Bay of Bengal, about 9 km south of the tip of the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf peninsula, and forming the southernmost part of Bangladesh. There is a small adjoining island that is separated at high tide, called Chhera island. It is about 8 km west of the northwest coast of Myanmar, at the mouth of the Naf River. 1st settlement started just 250 years ago by some Arabian Sailors and named as ‘Zajira’.

Buddha Dhatu Jadi

The Buddha Dhatu Jadi (Burmese: ဗုဒ္ဓဓာတုစေတီ; also known as the Bandarban Golden Temple) is located close to Balaghata town, in Bandarban City, in Bangladesh. Dhatu means material remains of a holy person and in this temple the relics belong to Buddha. It is the largest Theravada Buddhist Temple with the second largest Buddha statue in Bangladesh.
