Six Days of Ghent

The Six Days of Ghent is a six-day track cycling race held annually in Ghent, Belgium. It takes place in the Kuipke velodrome in Ghent's Citadelpark. The 2006 event from 21 November to 26 November was marred by the death of one of the riders. During the fifth day's racing, Isaac Gálvez of Spain rode into the barrier edging the outside of the track and died on his way to hospital.

Hogeschool Gent

With eight faculties and 16,000 students, University College Ghent is the largest university college in Flanders. Its establishment in 1995 is the outcome of two successful mergers that involved sixteen Belgian institutions of higher education. Many had been influential leaders in higher education for several decades. The current eight faculties are spread over the city center of Ghent and Aalst.

Museum of Fine Arts, Ghent

The Museum of Fine Arts (Dutch: Museum voor Schone Kunsten) in Ghent, Belgium, is situated at the East side of the Citadelpark. The museum holds a large permanent collection of art from the Middle Ages until mid 20th Century. The collection focuses on Flemish Art (Southern Netherlands) but also has several European- especially French- paintings. It also has a large amount of sculptures. Next to its permanent collection the museum organises temporary exhibitions (approximately 2 every year).
