Luchteren

Luchteren is a village in East Flanders, Belgium, within the municipality of Ghent. Luchteren is the most rural parish of Drongen district, located on the main N461 road. Most shops and other important features are located in the main streets Beekstraat, Antoon Catriestraat, Boskeetstraat and Gavergrachtstraat, the last one holding the small parish church, the only school and the only bar of the village. Halewijn is a distinct neighbourhood within Luchteren.

Drongen

Drongen is a submunicipality of the city of Ghent. Drongen is divided into three parishes: Drongen, Luchteren and Baarle. Drongen is known for its early medieval monastery, founded in the 7th century by the monk Amandus, the Missionary of the Leie and Schelde. Destroyed by the Normans in 853, the monastery was rebuilt by the counts of Flanders. The monastery was the victim of the religious wars following the Reformation, and in 1578 it was once again destroyed by Calvinists.

Holy Corner (Ghent Béguinage)

The Belgian city of Ghent has three béguinages: the "Old Saint Elisabeth", known in English as the Holy Corner, the new Saint Elisabeth béguinage in the Ghent suburb of Sint-Amandsberg and Our Lady Ter Hoyen in the Lange Violettenstraat. The Saint Elisabeth béguinage was named after Elisabeth of Hungary also known as Saint Elisabeth of Thuringia.

Logos Tetrahedron

The Logos Tetrahedron is a concert hall in Ghent, Belgium adjacent to the Logos Foundation recording studio and offices. It has seating for 150 people and is equipped with sound and light infrastructure. Since the concert hall is in the shape of a tetrahedron, it has no straight angles and, as a result, no standing waves can occur. Acoustic waves can never amplify one another in phase and are reflected by the walls under ever changing angles.
