Mandel (river)

The Mandel is a 40 km long river in the Belgian province of West Flanders, left tributary of the Leie (Lys). Its source is located in Passendale. It flows through Roeselare and Ingelmunster, and flows into the Leie near Waregem.

Canal Roeselare–Leie

The canal Roeselare-Leie is an artificial waterway between the town Roeselare and the river Leie. It can handle barges up to 1350 tonnes. The port in Roeselare, at the start of the canal Roeselare-Leie, is mainly characterized by a thriving industrial activity. Well-known companies that are located there include Debaillié and Hanekop, both producers of animal food. Soubry, the well-known dough manufacturer, also has an establishment there.

Aaigem

Aaigem is a village belonging to the municipality of Erpe-Mere. It is located in the province of East Flanders, Belgium. The village has some 2000 inhabitants. Aaigem was an independent municipality with an area of 7.32 square kilometers till 1976.

Bavikhove

Bavikhove is a village in the Belgian municipality of Harelbeke within the Flemish province of West Flanders. It is located between Harelbeke-centre and Hulste, along the Leie river. It is known for the Bavik Brewery which brews a pilsner and Wittekerke Beer, among others. Famous people of Bavikhove include cyclists Stijn Devolder, Leif Hoste, Dirk Demol and Flemish actor and singer Wim Opbrouck.
