Baal, Belgium
Baal is a village in the municipality of Tremelo, in the province of Flemish Brabant, Belgium. It is notable as the home of successful cyclo-cross competitor Sven Nys. He is sometimes called by the nickname "the Kannibaal van Baal" (Dutch for "Cannibal of Baal"). The Grand Prix Sven Nys cyclo-cross race, named after Nys, is held annually in Baal. Rock Werchter is a Belgian annual music festival held in the village of Werchter, near Leuven, since 1976. It is one of the five biggest annual rock music festivals in Europe. The 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007 festivals received the Arthur award for best festival in the world at the International Live Music Conference (ILMC). It can host 85,000 guests daily, of which 67,000 combine all four days, to add up to a total maximum of 139,000 different attendees.

The Demer is an 85 km long river in eastern Belgium, right tributary of the Dijle. It flows through the Belgian provinces Limburg and Flemish Brabant. Its source is near Tongeren.
