Liège Airport, also called Liège-Bierset, is an important cargo airport in Belgium. It was at the end of 2011 the 7th biggest cargo airport in Europe. Gleixhe

Gleixhe is a hamlet in the municipality of Flémalle in the province of Liège, Belgium. It was a municipality until 1963 when it became part of the municipality of Awirs. Awirs itself was made a subdivision of the municipality of Flémalle in the 1977 fusion of Belgian municipalities.

Haultpenne

The Castle Haultepenne, also spelled Haultpenne, located in Gleixhe in the town of Flémalle, is a part medieval, part renaissance structure. It is known for its red brick and uniquely shaped tower. For several centuries, the castle was in the possession of a Flemish noble family, Berlaymont. The name of the castle is bound to the sobriquet, the Fury of Haultepenne, when the army of Claude de Berlaymont (1550-1586) overran the Breda following a siege in 1581.

Awirs

Awirs is a village and subdivision of the municipality of Flémalle in the province of Liège in Belgium. The population on December 31, 2004 was 2,869. A notable building is the 18th century Château d'Aigremont.

Mons-lez-Liège

Mons-lez-Liege is a section of the Belgian municipality of Flemalle located in the Walloon Region, in the province of Liège. The town was also known under the name of Mons-Crotteux until 1977. It was a separate municipality before the merging of municipalities in 1977. It is the birthplace of Louis Antoine, in 1846. He founded the Antoinism in Jemeppe-sur-Meuse in 1910.
