Stueng Trang District

Stueng Trang district is a district located in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. The district capital is Stung Trang town located around 30 kilometres directly north of the provincial capital of Kampong Cham by road. Stueng Trang is a large border district in the north of the province located on the Mekong River. The district lies on the border between Kampong Cham and Kampong Thom and Kratie provinces. It is the birthplace of Cambodia's Prime Minister, Samdech Hun Sen.

Chamkar Leu District

Chamkar Leu District is a district of Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. The district capital is Chamkar Leu town. The town is located at the junction of National Roads 71 and 222 around 48 kilometres north east of the provincial capital at Kampong Cham city. The district is significant producer of rubber, both for domestic consumption and for export. Two large rubber co-operatives, Chamkar Andong Plantation and Chamkar Leu Plantation are located in the district.

The Khmer Republic was the republican government of Cambodia that was formally declared on October 9, 1970. It was replaced in 1975 by the totalitarian state known as Democratic Kampuchea.

Democratic Kampuchea

Democratic Kampuchea, was the name of the Khmer Rouge-controlled state that, between 1975 and 1979, ruled the Southeast Asian country of Cambodia. It was founded when the Khmer Rouge forces defeated the Khmer Republic of Lon Nol. After losing control of most of Cambodian territory to Vietnamese occupation, it survived as a rump state supported by the West and China.
