The lake has a total area of 54.5 km, a maximum depth of 9 m, and an average depth of 4.8 m. Lac Ste. Anne lies at an elevation of 730 m, and has a drainage area of 619 km. The eutrophic lake is formed along the Sturgeon River through which it drains into the North Saskatchewan River.

Alberta Provincial Highway No. 37 is a highway in the province of Alberta, Canada. It runs in an east–west direction just north of St. Albert and Edmonton, from west of Onoway to west of Fort Saskatchewan. Starting in the west, Highway 37 begins 3.4 km west of Onoway (nicknamed Hub of the Highways) where it leaves Highway 43 and parallels it east for 1 mile before Highway 43 turns south.
