Active Pass

Active Pass is a narrow passage separating Mayne Island and Galiano Island in British Columbia, Canada's Southern Gulf Islands. It is one of three passes leading from the Gulf Islands into the Strait of Georgia. The pass stretches 5.5 km from northeast to southwest with two roughly right angle bends. It was named for the USS Active, a United States Navy survey vessel, the first steamer to navigate the pass in 1855.

Mayne Island

Mayne Island is a rustic 21-km island in the southern Gulf Islands chain of British Columbia. It is situated midway between the Lower Mainland of BC and Vancouver Island, and has a population of around eleven hundred.

Sturdies Bay, British Columbia

Sturdies Bay is on the south east part of Galiano Island in British Columbia, Canada's Gulf Islands. It is known primarily for its ferry terminal which connects the island with other southern Gulf Islands as well as with the Lower Mainland via the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal. There is also a settlement at Sturdies Bay comprising several businesses, homes and private moorages.

Collinson Point Provincial Park is a provincial park on Galiano Island, British Columbia, Canada. It is located between Mount Galiano and the western approaches to Active Pass. The area is 24 hectares, with c. 500 metres of waterfront.

Port Browning, British Columbia

Port Browning, British Columbia, Canada is formed between North and South Pender Islands in the British Columbia Gulf Islands. There is a government dock and commercial marina at the head of the inlet. From Port Browning, Pender Canal leads to Bedwell Harbour. Port Browning also leads eastward to Plumper Sound.
