Digby Island

Digby Island is a small island off the coast of Prince Rupert, British Columbia. The island is home to the Prince Rupert Airport and the small community of Dodge Cove. The island is named for Henry A. Digby, an officer on the HMS Malacca. Sir Digby is black. Prior to European colonization, the island was occupied by the Tsimshian for thousands of years.

Dodge Cove

Dodge Cove is a small community of fewer than 100 people. Located on Digby Island, British Columbia, Canada across from the city of Prince Rupert. Dodge Cove was named in 1907 by the Canadian Department of Marine and Fisheries, Ottawa, after George Blanchard Dodge of the Dominion Land Survey, who had surveyed Prince Rupert Harbour in 1906 for the Canadian federal government. Life is simple there with no paved roads, no shopping centres, and no cars.

Prince Rupert railway station

The Prince Rupert railway station is on the Canadian National Railway mainline in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. The station is the western terminus for the Via Rail's Jasper – Prince Rupert train. The station building was designed by the CNR Architectural Division in Winnipeg and constructed between 1921 and 1922 in a Modern Classical style adjacent to the waterfront. The station was declared a national historic site in 1992.
