Burritts Rapids Bridge

The Burritts Rapids Bridge connects Donnelly Drive in Burritts Rapids to County Road 22 in North Grenville Township, Canada. It was built in 1897, and although it has been updated since then, it still has the original design. It is a cottaging site, which is swung by hand by the lockstaff from the nearby Burritts Rapids lock. The white clapboard building next to the bridge is a historical building which now houses the library, though it was originally the bridgemaster's house.

Bishop's Mills, Ontario

Bishop's Mills, Ontario is a small community, approximately 65 kilometres southwest of Ottawa, west of Kemptville and east of Merrickville, in the township of North Grenville. The rural community has a population of about 135 and is also the home of the Bishops Mills Natural History Centre http://pinicola. ca/bmnhc. htm. The village name is derived from a grist mill and a saw mill built on a branch of the Rideau River by Chauncey Bishop (1796-1877) and his brother, Ira (1803-1883).

Burritt's Rapids is a small village located on the Rideau River in eastern Ontario. Burritts Rapids, Ontario is located in OttawaBurritts Rapids, Ontario Location of Burritts Rapids in Ottawa The hamlet was named after Stephen Burritt, whose family was the first to settle in this area. At one time, the hamlet prospered due to its location on the Rideau Canal.
