Wood Lake (British Columbia)

Wood Lake is a lake in a chain of five major lakes which occupies portions of the Okanagan Valley in the interior of British Columbia, Canada. The lakes of the Okanagan Valley were formed by about 8900 BP. Wood Lake is immediately south of Kalamalka Lake connected to it by a dredged channel (the Oyama canal). Situated between Oyama and Winfield it has a solid reputation for rainbow trout fishing. The lake is named after Tom Wood, who settled on the south end of the lake around 1860.

Lake Country

Lake Country is a district municipality with a population of approximately 12,000 in the Central Okanagan, British Columbia, Canada. It is part of Kelowna Census Metropolitan Area. The city of Kelowna lies to the south, while the city of Vernon lies to the north. As its name suggests, there are a number of lakes in the vicinity of Lake Country, and outside the municipal boundaries in the hills to the east.

Cougar Canyon

Cougar Canyon is a canyon near Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park, in the district municipality of Coldstream. It is a long canyon running along the eastern side of Kalamalka Lake. The Canyon is very popular with the local rock climbing community. The area contains over 200 bolted routes, with plenty of room for more. Part of Cougar Canyon is an ecological preserve maintained by the British Columbia Ministry of Environment.

Kalamalka Lake

Fish Species; Lake trout, Rainbow trout, Cutthroat trout, Burbot and Kokanee. Kalamalka Lake (aka "Kal Lake") is a large lake in the Interior Plateau of southern central British Columbia, Canada, east of Okanagan Lake and approximately 4 kilometres south of Vernon. The lake is named for the Okanagan (Okanogan U.S. spelling) Indian chief who occupied its northern shores. At different times of the year the colour of the lake can range from cyan to indigo, in different spots at the same time.

Ellison Provincial Park

Ellison Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, located on the east side of Okanagan Lake to the south of the city of Vernon. The park contains approximately 219 acres of land, 200 ha. of it upland, 19 ha. of it foreshore.
