Jordan River, founded as and still officially gazetteted as River Jordan, is a small settlement on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, located approximately 70 km west of Victoria. Established as a logging camp in the late 19th century, Jordan River has Vancouver Island's second hydroelectric power plant. It is popular amongst winter surfers. Loss Creek is a river on southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The creek runs east-west from north of River Jordan, British Columbia to Sombrio Beach. It is geologically interesting since the creek follows the Leech River major thrust fault and forms a distinct border between two different terranes: In the south the Crescent Terrane, an ancient volcanic island, and in the north the Pacific Rim Terrane, composed of gneiss and schist.

Sheringham Point Light
Sheringham Point Lighthouse is located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, near the community of Shirley. Built in 1912, it is still used for navigation. The lighthouse and surrounding property is currently owned by the Canadian Coast Guard and fenced off, though the lighthouse can be seen easily from a trail beside the fence. As of 2005, the Sheringham Point Lighthouse Preservation Society is working to acquire the property from the Coast Guard and turn it into a public park.
