There is a small public airport nearby. The community is situated on a large lime deposit and its extraction has driven the local economy, beginning with a Lafarge cement plant constructed in the 1960s and current mothballed since the early 1990s.

Cornhill, New Brunswick

Corn Hill is a community in Kings County near the villages of Havelock and Petitcodiac in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. The earliest land claims were granted in 1810. The Corn Hill Nursery and Cedar Cafe are well known destinations in the community providing a wide range of locally grown horticultural material and several annual events celebrating roses and grapes. Corn Hill is home to the Corn Hill Bicycle Festival, which is a celebration of bicycling in the rural landscape.

Petitcodiac Regional School

Petitcodiac Regional School is a combined primary and secondary public school located in Petitcodiac, New Brunswick, Canada. It was originally built in 1951 and presently houses approximately 700 students from Kindergarten through grade 12 with a staff of approximately 48 teachers. The school contains three unique and separate areas housing the elementary school, the middle school and the high school with a common gymnasium, music room, technology lab and cafeteria.

Battle of Petitcodiac

The Battle of Petitcodiac was fought during the Bay of Fundy Campaign (1755) of the French and Indian War. The battle was fought between the British colonial troops and Acadian resistance fighters led by French Officer Charles Deschamps de Boishébert on September 4, 1755 at the Acadian village of Village-des-Blanchard on the Petitcodiac River.
