Mortier Bay

Mortier Bay (or Little Mortier Bay) is a natural bay on the Burin Peninsula on the south coast of the island of Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It is entered through a channel 1.5 miles long and 0.5 miles wide, at the north end of which the bay opens nearly 2 miles in diameter with deep water and no anchorage, except in the harbors off it.. The settlement of Marystown is located on the bay.

Beau Bois, Newfoundland and Labrador

Beau Bois was a postal office and fishing settlement near Burin in 1911. It was 40 miles from Placentia and 190 miles from St. John's. There was one store and one hotel in 1911. It was around since 1864. The Way office was established in 1879 and the first Waymaster was George Dober. It had a population of 68 in 1911 and 58 in 1956.
