Chapel Arm

Chapel Arm is a settlement in Newfoundland, Canada, located at the southeast corner of Trinity Bay, approximately 100 km west of St. John's and two km (one and a half miles) from the Trans-Canada Highway. With the exception of a few families, the religious denominations are Anglican and Roman Catholic. It has two churches, two parish halls, an LOL hall and a modern elementary school serving the communities of Chapel Arm, Whitbourne, Bellevue and Long Harbour.

Iona, Newfoundland and Labrador

Iona is a group of small islands in Placentia Bay that used to be inhabited. The islands were once called Ram's or Ram's Island. The population was reported to be 197 in the 1836 Census and 100 in 1921 and 67 in 1940. Iona was originally settled by Irish Roman Catholics, which included but not limited to, the surnames of Griffin, Bruce, Fitzpatrick, Murphy, Sweeney, McFarrell (Later McFarlane), Duke, Pope, Newman, Northover, Bird, Whiffen, and King.

Fox Harbour, Newfoundland and Labrador

Fox Harbour is a small community on the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland. According to Statistics Canada in 2011, the population is 270. It is surrounded by hills. It is located close to Argentia, the site of the Naval Station Argentia. According to some sources, Fox Harbour got its name from tales of foxes that came down from the surrounding hills and ate the drying fish on the flakes. As well, the community was called Little Glocester before it became officially named Fox Harbour.
