Rock Point Provincial Park

Rock Point Provincial Park is a park located on the north shore of Lake Erie near the mouth of the Grand River in the Carolinian zone of southwestern Ontario. It occupies an area of 1.87 km². Habitats within the park include wetlands, forests and dunes. Trees include the uncommon Big Shellbark Hickory. Limestone shelves along the lake shore contain the fossils of marine animals from the Devonian period. There is also a sandy beach for swimming.

Dain City, Ontario

Dain City is a small suburb located at the southernmost part of Welland, Ontario, Canada. At one time, it was a mostly self-contained rural community at the junction of two significant rail lines, part of the Township of Humberstone, and was called Welland Junction. The name was changed to Dain City after it was annexed to the city of Welland in the mid-1950s.

Port Maitland, Ontario

It is on the North shore of Lake Erie, at the mouth of the Grand River. At one time a canal connected the Welland Canal to the Grand River. It was once a thriving commercial fishing village. The population of Port Maitland is approximately 100 people.

Grand River (Ontario)

The Grand River is a large river in southwestern Ontario, Canada. From its source near Wareham, Ontario, it flows south through Grand Valley, Fergus, Elora, Waterloo, Kitchener, Cambridge, Paris, Brantford, Caledonia, and Cayuga before emptying into the north shore of Lake Erie south of Dunnville at Port Maitland. One of the scenic and spectacular features of the river is the falls and gorge at Elora. The Grand River is the largest river entirely within southern Ontario's boundaries.

Niagara Peninsula

It stretches from the Niagara River in the east to Hamilton, Ontario in the west. The population of the peninsula is roughly 1,000,000 people. The region directly across the Niagara River and Lake Erie in New York State is known as the Niagara Frontier. Located in Western New York, the area forms a part of the broader Buffalo Niagara Region.
