Bowmanville

Bowmanville is the largest community in the Municipality of Clarington (formerly known as the Town of Newcastle) in Durham Region, Ontario, Canada. It is located in Southern Ontario about 75 km east of Toronto and 15 km east of Oshawa along Highway 2. The Town of Bowmanville was a stand-alone incorporated municipality from 1858 to 1973. Bowmanville is located in the greater Toronto area.

Bowmanville Zoo

Bowmanville Zoo is a zoo in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. It is one of the largest suppliers of animals for Hollywood movies and television programs. It is Canada's oldest private zoo; founded in 1919, it now hosts over 300 animals. The zoo allows children to ride on the back of an elephant or a camel. The zoo now has a trolley car that visitors can ride through the lion exhibit.

Bowmanville POW camp

The Bowmanville POW camp Camp 30 was a Canadian-run POW camp for German soldiers during World War II located in the community of Bowmanville, Ontario in Clarington, Ontario, Canada. Prisoners Otto Kretschmer and Wolfgang Heyda were the subject of an elaborate escape attempt named Operation Kiebitz.

Clarington Central Secondary School

Clarington Central Secondary School is located in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada and is located just north of Hwy 2 on Clarington Blvd. Clarington Central Secondary School opened in September 2005 to students and was later officially opened by Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board officials and the Mayor of Clarington John Mutton in November 2005.
