Bowser, British Columbia
Bowser (Population 1600), is a community on the eastern coast of Vancouver Island, located approximately 66 km north of Nanaimo. It is situated in a region which was informally known as Lighthouse Country, which is a stretch of highway that extends from Qualicum Beach in the South to Horne Lake to the west to Fanny Bay in the North and across to Denman and Hornby Islands.

Chrome Island
Chrome Island is the site of a light station in the Salish Sea/Georgia Strait on the coast of Vancouver Island in an area known as Baynes Sound. Chrome Island is located 100 m off the southeast tip of Denman Island and 3.5 km northeast of the harbour at Deep Bay, British Columbia. The lightstation was established in 1891 and assists traffic in the region of Deep Bay, Denman Island, and Hornby Island.

Qualicum River
The Qualicum River (marked on highway signs in the area as the Big Qualicum River) is a river on the east coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, flowing northeast from its headwaters in Horne Lake into the Strait of Georgia just south of Qualicum Bay, near the town of Qualicum Beach. The river's name comes from that of the Qualicum people.
