Galetta, Ottawa
Galetta is a village in eastern Ontario, Canada, located on the Mississippi River near its mouth in the Ottawa River. Once part of Fitzroy Township and later West Carleton, it is now part of the city of Ottawa. The area was first settled in 1823. It was originally named Hubbell's Falls after James Hubbell, then Steen's Falls after James Steen who built a mill here, and finally Galetta in 1873 after James Galetti Whyte who also built mills on the river here.
