Lake Wanapitei

Lake Wanapitei occupies a meteorite crater in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. It is located near the large Sudbury meteorite crater but is not related to it. The crater is 5.2 miles (8.37 km) in diameter and the age is estimated to be 37.2 ± 1.2 million years, placing it in the Eocene. It was evident by the mid-1970s that Wanapitei Lake was an impact crater. Remarkably, it lies on the eastern edge of the much older, larger Sudbury structure.

Edison Building (Falconbridge)

The Edison Building is a historic building in Greater Sudbury, Ontario. Located at 5 Lindsley Street in the community of Falconbridge, the building was constructed in 1969 as the head office for Falconbridge Ltd. 's operations in the Sudbury area. The building was named after Thomas Edison, who was credited with the original ore discovery in the Falconbridge area. Originally built with 27,000 square feet of office space, the building was expanded to 38,000 square feet in 1995. Falconbridge Ltd.

Happy Valley, Greater Sudbury, Ontario

Happy Valley is a ghost town in the city of Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. The community was first inhabited in 1906 by workers from the nearby mine at Garson. Not wanting to live in a state of dependency in the company town, they built this smaller town of humble shacks with narrow streets.

Wahnapitae First Nation

The Wahnapitae First Nation is an Ojibwa First Nation in the Canadian province of Ontario, who primarily reside on the 1,036 hectares Wahnapitae 11 reserve on the northwestern shore of Lake Wanapitei. The First Nation is a signatory to the Robinson-Huron Treaty of 1850 as the Tahgaiwenene's Band. The reserve had a resident population of 102 in the Canada 2011 Census; the First Nation also has approximately 200 further registered members who currently live off-reserve.

Capreol

Capreol is a community in the Ontario city of Greater Sudbury. From 1918 to 2000, Capreol existed as an independent town, situated on the Vermilion River. On January 1, 2001, the towns and cities of the Regional Municipality were amalgamated into the single-tier city of Greater Sudbury. In 1996, the last Canadian census before the municipal amalgamation, Capreol had a population of 3,817.
